Mines is a 5x5 grid with a number of hidden mines that you choose — anywhere from 1 to 24. Every tile you reveal safely raises your multiplier. Hit a mine and the round ends with nothing. At any point you can stop and take the current multiplier.

It is the purest version of the press-your-luck decision, which is what makes it compelling and dangerous. The multiplier grows faster as you go, so every additional tile is simultaneously more valuable and more likely to end you.

How it works

1

Choose how many mines

Fewer mines means safer tiles but a slower-growing multiplier. More mines inverts both.

2

Reveal tiles one at a time

Each safe reveal increases the multiplier by an amount that depends on mines remaining and tiles left.

3

Cash out whenever you want

The decision to stop is the entire game.

📉 Strategy — the honest version

The multiplier is calculated exactly to preserve a 1% house edge at every possible stopping point, so there is no number of tiles that is mathematically "correct" to stop at. Three mines and three reveals is a common rhythm because it keeps rounds short and the multiplier modest. Grid patterns, corner-first strategies and avoiding previously-mined squares are superstition — tile positions are randomised per round from the seed pair.

Common questions

How many mines should I set?
Whichever variance you want. One mine gives long safe runs and small multipliers; twenty-four gives a single coin-flip at a huge multiplier. Expected value is identical.
Do mines stay in the same place between rounds?
No. Positions are regenerated every round from the provably fair seeds.
Is there a pattern to where mines land?
No. Any pattern you notice in past rounds is noise, and acting on it does not change your odds.
